Structure and patterns

During the winter and spring here in the north, I often get caught up in structures and patterns when I choose my motif for a photograph. There is not much colours, and of course no flowers or greens to make pictures of. Things are white. Or gray. Black. Brown. If your lucky: deep blue.

I try to find interest in structures. The ice can often be fun. It can be soft or hard and looke very different. This year I found bubbles rising in ice on the lake, ice making sharp sticks over the creek. Ice can be a lifesaver for a photographer like me.
